Admission Procedure
The allocation of places at Yume is based on the availability of spaces in our rooms.
When offering a place, we follow a prioritised order, considering the following factors:
1. Current child wishing to increase sessions: We give priority to existing children who wish to increase their sessions at the school.
2. Sibling already in the school: Siblings of children who are already attending our school are given preference.
Please be aware that we also consider dates of birth and gender in order to maintain balance and diversity within our classes.
We aim to ensure fairness and transparency in our admissions process, considering various factors to allocate places appropriately. For further information or clarification, please do not hesitate to contact our admissions department.
Settling sessions are organised towards the end of each month, with the aim of having children start their regular attendance on the first day of the following month. These settling sessions are designed to facilitate a smooth transition for children, ensuring they feel comfortable and secure in their new environment.
During the settling sessions, we follow a structured approach that spans across one week.
In the first session, parents are invited to stay with their child for one hour, allowing both parent and child to familiarise themselves with the surroundings and meet the caregivers.
In the second session, parents remain present for the first 30 minutes, providing reassurance to the child before gradually transitioning to a two-hour period where the child is left in our care. This helps build confidence and independence in the child's ability to adjust.
The final settling session is a half-day experience, during which the child can engage in their first nap and enjoy a meal.
This extended session provides an opportunity for the child to become fully immersed in the daily routine and get accustomed to the atmosphere.
Throughout this settling period, parents will receive regular updates through our app, ensuring that they are kept informed of their child's progress and well-being.
In case the child experiences distress or uneasiness, we will work closely with the parents to gradually increase the duration of sessions until the child is comfortably settled.
Our dedicated team is committed to supporting both the child and the parents during this important transition period. We strive to create a nurturing and caring environment where every child can feel secure and thrive.

Future Schools
Our Preschool Team also focuses on reinforcing the essential skills children need to access their future schools.
We work in partnership with our children's destination schools, to ensure a smooth transition, including engaging conversations and activities, along with visits from Reception class teachers from those schools.
Children will have the opportunity to meet teaching staff from our recommended schools, where they can ask questions and form positive associations in the comfort of our nursery.
